About The More Natural Capital Collation (MNCC)
The More Natural Capital Coalition (MNCC) is an alliance of leading environmental organisations working collectively to improve London’s natural environment for people and wildlife. Convened by CPRE London, the Coalition was formed in 2019 to develop a shared environmental agenda and influence London-wide policy and decision-making. Its work has focused on engaging the Mayor of London, the Greater London Authority and London boroughs, including through election manifestos and coordinated campaigning. Its priorities encompass protecting and enhancing green spaces, securing nature’s recovery, tackling climate change, improving health and wellbeing, and reducing pollution and waste. The Coalition currently brings together environmental charities and organisations with shared priorities for London.
10 Environmental pledges during May 2026 elections
Alongside our #LoveEppingForest Campaign for the 2026 May Local Elections, we also took part in a London-wide initiative by MNCC. This included 10 pledges for candidates to sign to protect nature throughout London through initiatives like wetland and park building.
We were particularly happy that Pledge 5 was included: to “Ensure all green and blue spaces are properly funded, thrive and all are managed to Green Flag standards, and sign the Parks Charter.” We firmly believe that efforts to transform local environments involve protecting and improving biodiverse spaces that already exist, alongside building new ones.
