Connecting communities with nature to make a positive environmental impact in the Forest
About Epping Forest Together
Epping Forest Together is a new three-year project made possible thanks to the funding support from The National Lottery Community Fund.
Over 2026-2029, this funding will support many of our community-led events and activities that inspire and educate people about the Forest, increase awareness of climate change and how this may affect the Forest and its local communities, as well as provide opportunities for people to take action to help protect the irreplaceable Forest.
What will we do in this project?
Community-led activities and events
Thanks to the money raised by National Lottery players, Epping Forest Together will help us to reach and support more new people to come together to enjoy, love, and care for the Forest through: guided walks, hands-on conservation activities and volunteering opportunities.

Free Guided walks
Want to get to know Epping Forest but don’t know where to start? Join us at one of our Guided Walks!
Led by our expert volunteers, they are often in different parts of the Forest focusing on different themes. A great start point to discover the Forest’s irreplacable biodiversity, culture and heritage.
Woodland Conservation Activities
Join one of our Conservation Officers for a day in the Forest and carry out hands-on activities to help conserve the Forest.
A fun day in the outdoors with a small group of people and a fantastic way to play a small part in helping the environment. All welcome and no previous experienced required!
Become a volunteer
Whatever your skills or background, however much time you can give, you can make a difference!
There are many volunteering opportunities: from supporting guided walks and welcoming people to visit and love the Forest, to volunteers that support our policy, advocacy, and campaigning.
People’s Forest Panel
As part of the project, we will launch ‘People’s Forest Panel’, bringing together local people to help shape our advocacy work on behalf of the Forest.
