Conservation / Team building activities in Epping Forest
Epping Forest is the largest green space in London with over 55,000 veteran pollarded trees in over 6,000 acres of ancient woodland pasture.
We offer conservation sessions/team-building days that are designed around protecting this ancient woodland. Working alongside our dedicated conservation staff you will carry out hands-on conservation work.
We work to inspire, educate and protect this ancient woodland for the enjoyment of generations to come, and your help will directly allow this to happen.
Expect to –
- Learn about Epping Forest, its trees, heritage and ecology
- Learn how to use tools safety, like bow saws, bill hooks and loppers
- Learn conservation techniques, skills and practices
- Connect with the ancient woodland and its history
- Feel that you have physically accomplished something for the benefit of the Forest
- Work together to tackle and fell invasive trees and shrubs.

It was fantastic volunteering with the Epping Forest Heritage Trust. Not only was it a great chance to spend some time in nature, but the team at EFHT were extremely friendly and informative throughout the day. We had a good briefing which made us comfortable in carrying out all the activities, and the volunteer leader taught us a lot about trees and the nature in Epping Forest. The volunteering day out ws also a great bonding experience for our team and we would love to do it again soon!
We had such a good afternoon in the forest – on behalf of the group we’d just like to say thanks for guiding us through the afternoon – we will definitely look to organise more sessions in the future!
