Despite the challenging situation in 2021, our Green Team of conservation volunteers, and our Happy Loppers, conservation volunteers with learning difficulties, both managed by our Conservation Officer Nick Ely, delivered terrific results!
The Green Team
A total of 18 volunteers have delivered:
- 12 sessions at Long Running (April 22 to July 15) completing 260 hours of volunteer conservation work
- 12 sessions at Fairmead Glade (Sept 16 to Dec 9) completing 336 hours of volunteer conservation work
- 119 Faggott bundles to be used on lake and pond projects in 2022; and
- Cleared 13 bags of rubbish!
Happy Loppers:
A total of 19 volunteers have delivered:
- 15 sessions at Fairmead Bottom (July 9 to July 23) and Grimstone’s Ride (Sept 10 to Dec 10)
- 512 hours of volunteer conservation work, and
- Cleared 15 bags of rubbish
So that is 39 days of conservation work and 1,108 volunteer hours from 37 people! A big thank you to all our volunteers!
