A fascinating study of Epping Forest over 100 years ago. The book includes chapters on history, topography, objects of interest, animals, birds, prehistoric man, trees, fungi, geology and management. It is illustrated with sketches and includes five pull-out colour maps. There are twenty routes of various length of different parts of the forest with directions. It is an interesting read, showing the reader the varied flora and fauna that existed in the forest at that time.
